Jimmy H. Gavin age 83, of Rye, AR died Monday, September 4th 2023 at his home. He was born Thursday July 18th, 1940 in Warren, AR a son of the late Harold Gavin and Lucille Beard Gavin. Jimmy was a graduate of the Woodlawn Schools, joined the AirForce and served his country in Vietnam stationed in Danang, he retired from the Airforce with 20 years of service. Following the Airforce retirement, Jimmy worked in the Pine Bluff Arsenal and retired with 20 years of service. He was also preceded in death by a brother Don Gavin and a sister Janice Marie Kimbrell.
Surviving are his sons, Micheal Gavin and spouse Moncherri, Monticello, AR and Daniel Gavin, Rison, AR. A brother Charles Gavin, Rye, AR. and 4 grandchildren, Logan Gavin, Caitlin Foot, Grace Gavin and Jordan Light.
Graveside service was 2:00PM Sunday, September 10th at Union #2 Cemetery, with Rev. Ricky Mercer officiating. Burial in Union #2 by Frazer Funeral Home.
