MORO BAY, Ark. – Moro Bay State Park has announced the availability of a seasonal park interpreter position. The announcement was made on Tuesday, February 13th.
As of the announcement date, the river at Moro Bay remains at a high level, measuring at 81.6 feet, though it is gradually receding. While cabins and camping facilities are open to visitors, the marina, a trail, and part of the day use area remain closed due to safety concerns associated with the elevated water levels.

Applicants must possess a minimum of two years of college education in fields such as natural science, park interpretation, communications, park administration, history, education, forestry, or related disciplines.
Prospective candidates should also demonstrate strong public speaking skills and a willingness to undertake various responsibilities, including operating a pontoon boat, participating in off-site training sessions, and engaging in continuous learning. The position offers an hourly wage of $15.33 and includes on-site accommodation in a tiny house provided by Moro Bay State Park.
Duties for the seasonal park interpreter role at Moro Bay include conducting pontoon boat tours, leading kayak excursions, and organizing resource and history-related programs for park visitors, both on-site and off-site, including school groups.
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply online through the Arkansas State Parks careers portal before the application deadline on February 18th. However, the application process may remain open beyond this date if the position is not filled immediately. The application link can be found here.
