Helen Marie Martin Avery, 71, of Warren, passed away June 30, 2024. Born June 25, 1953, to the late John Henry and Delilah Martin.
Helen was friendly and outspoken, she loved to laugh and shop, especially for expensive purses. She also loved to cook, her beans, greens and cornbread were excellent. One of her favorite pastimes was playing spades, nobody played them better than her and her sister, Mae.
Helen had her son, Leo Martin early in life. She later married Willie Avery, to this union five more children were born.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Mae Gannaway, Jenny Griffin and Gurtis Williams.
Helen is survived by her children, Leo Martin, Christy Jones, James Avery (Tammy), Felicia McKinley (Emmitt) all of Warren, John Martin of Hermitage, Jeffery Martin of Conway; thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held July 5 at Hammons Funeral Home Chapel.
