EL DORADO, Ark. – The El Dorado Wildcats claimed a decisive victory over the Arkansas High Razorbacks Friday night, winning 35-14 in Texarkana.
Quarterback Cannon Jacobs led the Wildcats’ offense, striking first in the opening quarter with a 30-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Samuel. Kicker Cooper Henry added the extra point to give El Dorado an early 7-0 lead.
A power outage temporarily delayed the game, but the Wildcats kept their momentum. With 4:26 remaining in the second quarter, Jacobs connected with AJ Gilmore for a 31-yard touchdown, and Henry’s kick extended the lead to 14-7.
Just before halftime, Jacobs and Gilmore linked up again for another 30-yard score, putting the Wildcats up 21-7 at the break.
El Dorado continued to control the game in the third quarter, adding another touchdown and sealing their second win of the season, improving to 2-1. They will have a bye next week before returning to action on September 27 against Little Rock Catholic.
The Razorbacks fell to 0-3 with the loss. Arkansas High is also off next week and will travel to Magnolia on September 27.
