WARREN, Ark. – The new and improved Saline River News website, accessible at salinerivernews.com, has officially launched, bringing several exciting updates to its readers. While many of the changes have already been visible over the past few weeks, the team is still completing a few finishing touches.
The revamped site offers a fresh look and enhanced functionality. Unlike the previous version, where the homepage displayed a simple chronological stream of articles, the new homepage now highlights top stories, with a focus on important content rather than the most recently published. Readers can also find a variety of articles, including obituaries, which are now placed towards the bottom of the homepage and accessible via a dedicated obituaries tab.
Readers who have bookmarked the previous website at salineriverchronicle.com will be automatically forwarded to the new domain at salinerivernews.com, ensuring a seamless transition for regular visitors.
The new design includes changes to the top menus, which vary based on the device being used. Mobile users will see streamlined options, such as Communities, Sports, Obits, and Businesses. The Communities tab allows readers to filter news from different local areas. While some pages are still under construction, readers are encouraged to submit community stories via email at [email protected].
Sports enthusiasts can also expect, and have likely already seen, expanded coverage. Saline River News continues to cover Warren Lumberjack athletics but has broadened its scope to include other high schools and universities across South Arkansas. Sports fans can now visit the sports page either through the main site or directly via salineriversports.com.
Security improvements have been made as well, with advanced features in place to protect the site from potential threats. However, readers accessing the site from work computers may encounter issues due to these security measures. Businesses and organizations are advised to contact their IT teams to resolve any access problems.
A new “Businesses” link is now available at the top of the page, where visitors can find a categorized list of services from local advertising companies and organizations.
The Saline River News team is working to fix any broken links that may still result in 404 errors due to the new, more complex site structure.
It’s also important to note that readers are encouraged to explore the site directly, as only a small percentage of stories will be posted on social media. We are publishing more news than ever, but we don’t want to flood your social media timelines.
With more updates planned, Saline River News is excited to continue providing local news and services to its growing readership. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at [email protected].
Welcome to the new site!
