UAM Men’s Golf Place Sixth in First Day of Montevallo Invitational

CALERA, Ala. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Men’s Golf team opened the 2024-25 season on Monday in the Full Moon BBQ Invitational at the Timberline Golf Club in Calera, Alabama, hosted by the University of Montevallo. The Weevils closed out day one of the tournament in sixth place, shooting a combined score of 296.

Senior Owen Page led the Weevils in the opening round of the tournament, finishing the day in tenth overall, at 1-over par (72).

Chase Kisver closed out the first round 2-over par (73), tied for 11th place.

Sophomore Sawyor Hamilton concluded day one tied for 19th, alongside incoming Freshman Connor Whitworth, who is playing individually. Hamilton and Whitworth both recorded a score of, 74 (+3).

Junior Daniel Taylor fired a day one total of 6-over par (77) and currently sits tied for 29th.

Senior Aidan Rooke ended round one tied for 33rd, after shooting 78 (+ 7).

The Weevils all finished day one less than 10-over par, and recorded 12 birdies combined – Owen Page led round one with three.

The Weevils will play their final round of the tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
