UAM Women’s Golf Close Day One of NSU Women’s Classic in Ninth

MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The UAM Women’s Golf Team sits in ninth place after round one of the NSU Women’s Classic at the Muskogee Country Club in Muskogee, Oklahoma on Monday. 

The Blossoms posted a team score of 300 (16-over par), edging out fellow Great American Conference school Northwestern Oklahoma State by one stroke while trailing Henderson State, who sits in eighth, by one shot was well.

Incoming freshman Tori Milton once again led the opening day for the Blossoms, finishing tied for 11th at 1-over par (72).

Sophomore Mekdes Rozas concluded day one tied for 22nd place after shooting 3-over par (74)

Senior Shehna Akbary, Sophomore Natalie Van Dort, and Sophomore Ximena Paz round out the rest of the score for UAM. All three Blossoms are currently tied in 45th place, with a score of 77 (+6)

Through round one the Blossoms combined for 10 birdies, with Milton leading the day with four. 

The Blossoms will play their final round of the tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 10th.
