Rison Shine Gears Up for Annual Cleveland County Christmas Parade

RISON, Ark. – The holiday season in Cleveland County is set to begin with the highly anticipated annual Christmas Parade in downtown Rison, hosted by Rison Shine Community Development, Inc. The event will take place on Thursday, December 12, at 7 p.m., and parade organizers are calling for local groups, businesses, and residents to join in the festivities by creating floats and decorated bicycles.

Building on last year’s success, which saw over 40 parade participants, Rison Shine aims to make this year’s event even more memorable. “We encourage local school classes, churches, businesses, and other groups to put together a float for the parade,” said Rison Shine President Celeste Beatty. The parade promises a range of floats and bike entries, with a special section for decorated bicycles where kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Cash prizes for the best floats and bicycles will be provided by Gateway Bank. Floats will begin gathering at the gate of Pioneer Village around 6:40 p.m. and will proceed through The Green House Cottages of Southern Hills, ending on Main Street with a festive visit from Santa himself.

In addition to the parade, families are encouraged to explore the drive-thru Christmas light display at Pioneer Village at Rison for more holiday cheer.

For more information or to enter the parade, residents can call (870) 325-6412 or message Rison Shine on Facebook.
