Lumberjacks’ Season Ends with Tough Loss to Arkadelphia in Regional Tournament

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Warren Lumberjacks saw their season come to a close Wednesday night at Billie Arena on the campus of Monticello High School, falling 65-55 to Arkadelphia in the opening round of the 4A South Regional Tournament. Despite entering as the top seed from the 8-4A Conference, Warren needed a win to advance to the State Tournament but came up short in a hard-fought battle.

The Lumberjacks opened strong, jumping out to a 10-3 lead behind a five-point first quarter from Neon’dre Thomas. However, Arkadelphia responded quickly, cutting Warren’s lead to 13-12 by the end of the first.

Warren suffered a significant setback in the first half when senior point guard Tramond Miller exited with an injury. Though he attempted a return in the second half, he was unable to continue. Zaydin Grider led the charge with five points in the second quarter, but the Lumberjacks trailed 32-27 at halftime.

Grider remained a key contributor, adding six more in the third quarter and three in the fourth. Bleyze Fellows and David Jordan, Jr. combined for 12 points in the final frame, but Warren couldn’t overcome Arkadelphia’s lead, ultimately falling 65-55.

With the loss, the Lumberjacks wrap up a great season with a 14-3 overall record, securing an historic 8-4A Conference Championship with a perfect 10-0 league mark.
