Margie Ree Campbell Threadgill, 79, of Warren, passed away, February 15, 2025. Born December 30, 1945, to William and Zettie Campbell.
Margie attended Childs Elementary School in Banks, AR., Hermitage Public Schools in Hermitage, AR and graduated in 1964 form Bradley County High School in Warren, AR. She furthered her education at Shimer College in Waukegan, Illinois, Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois and received two Masters of Arts degrees in Education form National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois. Margie ended her career in teaching in 2019 and became an educational consultant in Chicago, Illinois. She was an accomplished artist, an avid reader and had a deep appreciation for music of all cultures.
Margie united in holy matrimony to Lawrence ‘Larry’ Threadgill and years later the marriage was dissolved in a divorce.
Margie had an unconditional affection for all of her nephews, nieces, great-great nephews and nieces. She claimed nephews, Marcus Trotter, Craig Trotter, Kevin Trotter, Glenn Trotter and niece Ivy Joyce Trotter as her children. Young children always seemed to gravitate to Margie and she in turn responded in a loving and caring way.
Margie was a long-time member of United Baptist Church in Chicago, IL., where she served as a Sunday School teacher in the Youth department. In July 2023, she returned to her hometown, Banks, AR, after fifty-nine years. She relocated to Warren in January 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Merl Campbell and a brother, Herbert L. Campbell.

Campbell of Warren, AR, Marva Dancy (Willie) of Southaven, MS, Betty Haynes (Robert) of Warren, AR, William Campbell (Jennifer) of Fulshear, TX, Cherry Campbell (Linda) of Kenosha, WI, Bobby Campbell of Monticello, AR, Dexter Campbell (Janet), Gary Clary (Shelly) both of Warren, AR.; stepsisters, Myrtis Jean Clary of Georgia, Margaret ‘Cheyenne’ Dismute (John) of Harrell, AR, Priscilla McClellon of Sikeston, MO; stepbrother, Elver Wayne Neal (Donna) of Overland Park, KS.; sister-in-laws, Mary Campbell of Houston, TX; Ruth Clary of Warren, AR; a special friend James McAdory of Chicago, Illinois, Johnnie Dixon, Brenda Danley and Rosemarie; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held February 22 at St. James AME Church in Warren with Elder Joyce Trotter-Hampton, MC, Dr. Marcus Campbell Sr. eulogist and Rev Kirbe Newson pastor. Burial was in Childs Cemetery, Banks. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
