Abandoned Home North of YMCA Being Torn Down

WARREN, Ark. – An abandoned residence located at 305 North Main Street, just north of the Donald W. Reynolds YMCA, was in the process of being torn down Monday morning as part of the City of Warren’s ongoing efforts to address unsafe and unsightly structures within city limits.

The demolition is being carried out by the property owner following a recommendation from the City of Warren. Crews arrived early Monday to begin clearing the site.

City officials noted that while some structures undergo formal condemnation procedures due to no action from the property owner—which can be time-consuming—this particular case moved swiftly thanks to the owner’s willingness to take action.

The removal is part of a broader push by the City to clean up or eliminate dilapidated properties that do not meet code standards. Officials say the work is ongoing, and they remain committed to improving safety and appearance across the community.
