President Martha Tolano called the meeting to order, and members approved the minutes from July. In the absence of Treasurer Linda Hornaday, Roger McClellan distributed the financial report, which was accepted for audit.

The group celebrated the success of the July 26 Back-to-School Splash, which drew about 45 children and adults to the community event.

Planning turned to the fall season, with members confirming participation in the Great South Arkansas Junk Hunt set for October 23-26. Re-New-ing Edinburg will open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during the multi-county sale.

Members also voted to support Junior Exhibitors at the upcoming Cleveland County Fair with a cash prize drawing of $100, $50, and $25. Each youth exhibitor will receive one ticket per entry submitted. The motion was made by Melody Spears and seconded by Trenna Kemp.

In addition, the group scheduled a game night at the Community Center for September 25 at 5:30 p.m., following a motion by Dave Kemp and a second by Spears.

Other community events noted on the calendar include:

  • Cleveland County Fair – September 16-20
  • Cleveland County Rodeo – September 19-20 at the fairgrounds arena
  • Great South Arkansas Junk Hunt – October 23-26
  • Cleveland County Veterans Annual Appreciation Lunch – October 25 at 11:30 a.m. at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds
  • Halloween Event – October 31 at the New Edinburg Community Center

The next Re-New-ing Edinburg meeting is scheduled for September 9, 2025. The meeting adjourned following a motion by Dave Kemp and a second by Luis Tolano.
