Rison Accident Claims Life of Young Woman from New Edinburg

RISON, Ark. – A 19-year-old New Edinburg woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, November 29, on Amis Street in Rison, according to an Arkansas State Police fatal crash report.

The report identifies the victim as Destiny Amya Watts, 19, of New Edinburg. She was listed as the driver of a 2004 Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Amis Street at approximately 2:35 a.m.

According to the initial narrative in the report, the vehicle left the roadway, struck a fire hydrant and began to overturn. The report states that the vehicle overturned and the driver was ejected.

Weather conditions were described as clear, and the road condition was listed as dry at the time of the crash.
