Bradley County 4-H Members Learn Fig Propagation from Local Expert

WARREN, Ark. – Members of the Bradley County 4-H Superstars Club recently spent the day learning how something as simple as a fig cutting can grow into a thriving tree.

Mr. Keith Chambers led the hands-on demonstration, showing students the step-by-step process of propagating fig trees. With their hands in the soil and curiosity on full display, the 4-H members learned how patience, care, and proper technique can turn a small cutting into a fruitful tree.

The activity emphasized both practical agricultural skills and personal growth, reinforcing the idea that small beginnings can lead to lasting success.

“Growing confidence one cutting at a time!” organizers shared following the event.

By planting fig trees, the students not only gained knowledge about horticulture but also strengthened leadership and responsibility skills that extend beyond the garden.

The Bradley County 4-H program is part of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service, which provides educational opportunities and hands-on experiences for youth throughout the county.
