WARREN, Ark. — A community health program aimed at helping residents better understand and manage high blood pressure will be held later this month at the Warren Branch Library.

The event, part of the American Heart Association’s “Libraries with Heart” initiative, is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Warren Branch Library, located at 115 W Cypress.

According to information released by the library, the program will focus on educating attendees about how to prevent and manage high blood pressure, a condition that affects a significant portion of the adult population. Organizers note that 46 percent of American adults have high blood pressure, and many are unaware they have it due to a lack of noticeable symptoms.

In addition to the educational component, participants will receive a blood pressure monitor to take home, allowing them to regularly track their health.

High blood pressure, if left untreated, can lead to serious health issues including heart attack, stroke, and other complications.

The program is locally sponsored by the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas and is being held in collaboration with the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library system.

The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend.
