Irita Burks, 63, of Harrell, passed away March 28, 2026. Born April 13, 1962, to the late Delvin Neal and the late Birdie Lee Burks.
Irita attended and graduated from Hampton High School. She was known for her incredible skills in the sport softball. She grew up in Harrell, AR. and worked as a housekeeper in the Hampton Nursing
Home Facility until her health failed.
Irita was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed being surrounded by them as well as her great grandchildren. She loved doing word puzzles, playing bingo and her snacks. She
had a contagious smile, and a laugh that you could never forget… a hearty laugh. In her younger days, she loved dancing, playing music, and being around her family and friends. She was a remarkable
person, who impacted everyone she came across. She was truly a jewel while here on Earth.
She was also preceded in death by husband, William Henry Broughton; five siblings, Dwight Neal, Darren Neal, Lee Jackson, Sandra Neal and Norma Cross.
She is survived by her children, William Burks (Jacenthia) of Hampton, AR., Veronica Toney (Jeffery), Shameka Burks both of Harrell, AR.; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nine siblings,
Maudie Thompson (Larry), Alvin Green (Sandy) both of Cincinnati, OH., Brenda Moore, Delisa Ware both of Harrell, AR., Joetta Hutchins of Forney, TX.; Lawana Perry (Glen), Sharon Hargroves, Craig
Neal (Latreac) all of Rockford, IL.; James Allison (Marilyn) of Hampton, AR. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held April 4 at First Baptist Church in Harrell, AR. with Rev. Recco Williams officiating. Burial was in Rick’s Cemetery, Harrell, AR. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
