First Half
Crossett earned an early corner in the third minute and managed a long-range attempt, but the shot sailed over the crossbar. Warren responded in the fifth minute with a corner of its own, though the inward-swinging cross was collected by the Crossett keeper.
In the seventh minute, Warren created its first real scoring opportunity when Allison Mondragon played a sharp one-two through ball to Jessica Chavez down the right wing, but Chavez’s shot lacked power.
Warren broke through shortly after, with Mondragon again orchestrating the attack. She delivered a well-weighted through ball from about 20 yards out to Anna Arroyo, who got on the end of it and clipped a shot past the keeper. Though the keeper got a touch, the ball trickled into the net to give Warren a 1-0 lead.
Mondragon added to the lead in the 10th minute, launching a lofted shot from 25 yards out that sailed over the Crossett keeper for a 2-0 advantage.
The Lady Jacks made it 3-0 in the 17th minute when Mondragon swung in a corner that the Crossett keeper got a hand on but inadvertently knocked into her own net.
Warren’s back line controlled the remainder of the half, allowing Crossett little opportunity to threaten. The visitors’ best chance came in the 33rd minute off a midfield turnover, but the shot went wide left.
Warren took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Second Half
Warren continued its attacking pressure early in the second half. In the 47th minute, Azul Garcia nearly extended the lead with a powerful shot that went just wide left.
The Lady Jacks broke through again in the 56th minute when Mondragon delivered a precise cross that Arroyo met with a header, pushing the score to 4-0.
Just a minute later, Garcia cut back onto her right foot and blasted a shot over the Crossett keeper to make it 5-0.
In the 59th minute, Mondragon capped off her standout performance by collecting a loose ball about 30 yards from goal, beating the final defender, and finishing with a strong low shot past the keeper. The goal made it 6-0 and triggered the sportsmanship rule, shortening the remainder of the match.
After the Match
With the win, the Lady Jacks improved to 6-7 on the season.
Following the game, a moment of silence was held in honor of former Lady Jack soccer player Nicole Tinoco, a 2018 graduate of Warren High School, who recently passed away.
