WARREN, Ark. — Students from Warren High School’s EAST program recently took part in a riverbank cleanup as part of the Keep America Beautiful initiative, working alongside Moro Bay staff to help improve the local environment.
According to information shared by the program, students spent time along the riverbanks collecting litter and debris, with a particular focus on removing plastics and other materials that can take years to decompose and pose risks to wildlife.
The group worked together to gather multiple bags of trash, gaining firsthand insight into the environmental impact of litter. The experience also served as an educational opportunity, helping students better understand the importance of protecting natural spaces within their community.
School officials expressed appreciation to the Moro Bay staff for inviting students to participate and providing the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful project. In addition to the cleanup effort, students were recognized with T-shirts for their participation.
The activity is part of ongoing efforts by the EAST program to engage students in community service projects that promote environmental awareness and civic responsibility.
