WARREN, Ark. – Bakers from across south Arkansas will have an opportunity to showcase their favorite recipes during the Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival Pie Contest, scheduled for Friday, June 12, at the Bradley County Historical Museum in downtown Warren.
The contest, one of the newer additions to the Pink Tomato Festival schedule, will be held at the museum, located at 200 W. Ash Street. Organizers are encouraging families to nominate their celebrated pie makers and enter their favorite creations.
Each contestant may enter one pie. A youth division is available for participants age 12 and under.
Judging will be conducted in two categories:
- Pies containing tomato as an ingredient
- Pies not containing tomato as an ingredient
Entries will be evaluated based on crust, filling, appearance, taste and overall impression.
Pies will be accepted from noon until 1 p.m. on Friday, June 12. Winners will be announced during the All-Tomato Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13.
Contestants may download an entry form from the Pink Tomato Festival website and bring it with them or complete a form onsite the day of the competition. There is no entry fee to participate.
