WARREN, Ark. — A standing-room-only crowd gathered Sunday afternoon at the Bradley County Historical Museum for the inaugural presentation in a new local history series titled Bradley County History Unfolded.

The first program, presented by Gwen Bullard, explored the topic “The Spirit of Black Americans Who Settled in Bradley County During the 1920s and 1930s.” The presentation examined the lives, contributions, and experiences of Black residents who helped shape Bradley County during that period.

According to museum board member Mark C. Deal, the event exceeded expectations, drawing a full house to the museum and marking a successful launch for what organizers hope will become an ongoing series highlighting various aspects of local history.

“We had a standing room only crowd today,” Deal said in a social media post following the event. “This was the first in a series of events we are planning entitled Bradley County History Unfolded.”

Attendees filled the museum’s meeting space as Bullard shared historical information and stories centered on Black families and communities in Bradley County during the 1920s and 1930s. The presentation sparked interest among local residents eager to learn more about the county’s rich and diverse history.

Deal thanked Bullard for her work in preparing and presenting the program, as well as those who attended and members of the museum board who helped organize the event.

“Thanks to Gwen, all who attended and to all those on the Museum board who helped make this event such a success,” Deal said.

The Bradley County Historical Museum plans to continue the Bradley County History Unfolded series with future programs focusing on additional chapters of the county’s past.

The museum is located in downtown Warren and regularly hosts exhibits and educational events dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Bradley County.
