HERMITAGE, Ark. — The Hermitage School District is proud to announce that it has been recognized with the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) 2025–2026 Class 1A Sportsmanship Award, an honor that reflects the outstanding character, integrity, and respect consistently demonstrated by Hermitage student-athletes, coaches, students, and fans throughout the school year.
The award was recognized during the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators (AAEA) Summer Conference on July 27, 2026, where schools from across Arkansas were celebrated for exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship in interscholastic athletics. The Arkansas Activities Association promotes sportsmanship as a core value, emphasizing respect for opponents, officials, coaches, teammates, and spectators while encouraging educational athletics that develop leadership and character both on and off the playing field.
Receiving the Class 1A Sportsmanship Award is a significant accomplishment for Hermitage School District. The recognition represents the collective efforts of student-athletes who compete with integrity, coaches who model positive leadership, parents who encourage respectful competition, and fans who demonstrate school pride in a positive manner.
“This recognition reflects the values we strive to instill in every student,” said Superintendent LaDonna Spain. “Winning games is important, but developing young people of character is our highest priority. We are incredibly proud of our athletes, coaches, sponsors, administrators, families, and community members who represent Hermitage with class and respect at every event.”
