The City of Kingsland has welcomed two employees to its municipal team while also announcing a promotion within the public works department, according to Kingsland Mayor Samantha Johnson.
Ty Gonzales has joined the city as its new office manager. Johnson said the position was created by combining the previously advertised part-time water clerk and part-time accounting positions after city officials reviewed Kingsland’s staffing needs.
Gonzales will assist residents with water accounts, permits, city services and other business conducted through Kingsland City Hall. Johnson praised Gonzales’ experience, work ethic and ability to quickly learn the responsibilities of the position.
City Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Johnson also announced that Tevin Russell has joined the city’s public works department. Russell has been employed by the city since June 18 and has already been promoted to public works supervisor, leading a three-person crew.
According to Johnson, Russell has worked to clean areas throughout Kingsland, improve parks and maintain public spaces since joining the department.
Russell previously served the community as a Kingsland volunteer firefighter for eight years, including five years as fire chief. He is also a husband, father and small-business owner.
Johnson thanked both employees for their service and said the city looks forward to the positive impact they will continue to have on Kingsland.
