Warren Mayor R. Gregg Reep said Thursday that city officials are continuing to monitor a fire involving a large volume of wood waste at a manufacturing plant located on the old Bradley Mill site.
According to a July 30 news release, the company has been working with the Warren Fire Department and private contractors to extinguish the fire. Reep described the work as difficult and said those efforts remain ongoing.
No injuries have been reported, but excess smoke has affected residents living near the plant, particularly along Fullerton Street. Reep said residents have been offered other places to stay while corrective measures continue.
The city and company are focused on extinguishing the fire, preventing a similar incident from occurring again and assisting residents affected by the smoke.
Inspectors from the State of Arkansas have visited the site, and city officials are awaiting a report concerning the cause. Additional investigations are also expected to determine whether the incident caused any property damage.
Reep said city officials are monitoring the plant daily and communicating with nearby residents.

I’m sure most are aware that the manufacturing plant located on the old Bradley Mill Site has experienced serious burning issues with the large volume of wood waste stored on site. The company, along with assistance from the Warren Fire Department and private contractors, has been working diligently to put out the fire. This is very difficult and efforts continue.
The city and company are working toward these goals:
- Put out the fire
- Make sure this does not happen again
- Assist the residents who have been impacted by excess smoke.
While there have been no injuries, the conditions cannot continue, it must be corrected.
State of Arkansas inspectors have been on site, and the city hopes to get a report on the cause soon.
Residents have been offered places to stay while corrective actions continue. Further investigations will occur to determine any damage caused.
City Officials are monitoring the site daily and talking with the immediate residents of Fullerton Street, which borders the plant. We will not drop this issue until it is totally resolved.
