He was born on September 19, 1942, in Mineral Springs, AR, to the late Gibson Wright and Charlene Walker Wright. He was a faithful member of Harrell Methodist Church and attended Ouachita Baptist University. Billy was retired from Sysco Food Services.
Billy cherished spending time with his family and treasured the moments they shared together. He enjoyed playing golf and took great pride in working in his yard.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Tim Wright and a brother, Bobby Don Wright.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 33 years, Charla Harrell Wright whom he married on June 12, 1993 of Harrell, AR; son, Jason Oliver and spouse Casey of Lancaster, MA; daughters, Renee Irby of Saratoga, AR, Michelle Short and spouse Shane of Mt. Ida, AR, and Brittney Malone and spouse Austin of Collierville, TN; brother, Charles Wright and spouse Peggy of Burleson, TX; sisters, Elaine Latimer and spouse Benny of Bentonville, AR and Vickie Kuykendall and spouse Jim of Mineral Springs, AR; grandchildren, Emily Free and spouse Tristen, Amy Farmer and spouse Bridger, Ashley Efird, Tracy Efird, Holly Efird, Mattie Malone, Vivi Oliver, Hudson Oliver, and Presley Wright; great-grandchild, Emsley Farmer, and his beloved dog, Ladybug.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Harrell Methodist Church with the visitation starting one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Ouachita Nursing and Rehab Center in Billy’s memory; ONRC, 1411 Country Club Rd, Camden, AR 71701.
