and Evan Johnson, Hayley (Hinton) and Brent Ripperger, and Evan Hinton, her great-grandson Jack

Rhoda was born on August 8, 1931 to Selmer and Mrythel (Olson) Aarestad in Minneapolis, MN. She
graduated from Osseo High School and went on to work as a secretary at IDS Insurance company. On
January 29, 1955 Rhoda married the love of her life, Daniel Ladane Rodgers. During their 67 years
together they lived in Fayetteville, AR, Alamogordo, NM, Minneapolis, MN, Great Falls, MT and (for
the last 35 years) finally Leawood, KS.

Rhoda’s faith began at a young age under the influence of her father. She was an active member of
Colonial Presbyterian Church. Her love of Bible doctrine gave her great wisdom and comfort as she
grew spiritually.

Rhoda had a sense of style. She was artistic in jewelry design, designing and sewing clothes for her
children to wear, and knitting sweaters for her family and grandchildren.

Rhoda was an active athlete. As an adult she became an avid skier, and skied in Colorado, Idaho,
Mammoth Lakes, Panorama, Canada, and Angel Fire, New Mexico. She also loved playing golf and doing water aerobics. She thoroughly enjoyed watching her grandkids’ sporting events and was so
happy to cheer them on.

Rhoda had a sense of adventure and was always ready to explore. She camped with her family
throughout the United States and loved traveling all over the world. In particular she enjoyed exploring
the American Southwest with Dan. They spent time shopping and exploring Santa Fe and Taos. She
became knowledgeable about Native American art, especially native American jewelry and pottery.
In short, Rhoda loved a lot in life. She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother. Her
children, grandchildren and great-grandson were her pride and joy. She was happiest when surrounded
by her family and was always a role model for them. She provided a safe, loving and welcoming home
where they could always come for refuge and comfort. She was beloved by her family and they will all
greatly miss her zest for life, inspiring bravery, and the love she showed each and every one of them.
Rhoda’s life was honored at a service at Outlaw Cemetery in Bradley County, Arkansas on Saturday,
September 3 rd , 2022 at 10:00am.
