Rev. Jessie Jerry Bowie, 81, of Warren, passed away March 24, 2023. Born March 18, 1942, he was a son of the late Alec and Sarah Bowie. He grew up in Parkdale, AR., where during his youth he worked on a farm.
He traveled back to Warren, where he met and married Francyne York Bowie. She preceded him in death.
Jessie was known to his family as a God-fearing, strong-willed, kind man of faith. He served his God well and always encouraged others to serve the Lord and seek Him for themselves. He offered advice where he saw fit and never intended to hurt others with words or actions, following the way of Christ.
He loved his family, especially his wife Francyne, fiercely, and his family loved him with that same fierceness.
He is survived by one daughter, Deirdre; grandchildren, Amanda, B.J., C.J. and brother, James Bowie (Jaquelyn).
Funeral service was April 1 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, North Warren. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery, Warren. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
