Lumberjack Tennis plays host to Camden Tuesday, Presley Reep earns Player of the Day honors

WARREN, Ark. – In a showdown on the court Tuesday, August 30, 2023, the Warren Lumberjacks faced off against Camden at the Warren School District Campus Tennis Courts.

In the boys’ singles matches, Braylen Watson demonstrated his skill by securing a convincing 6-0 victory. Following suit, Caper Groves mirrored Watson’s success with another commanding 6-0 win. The boys’ doubles match, featuring Angel Herron and David Rawl’s, saw a tight contest, concluding with a score of 4-3.

The girls’ team showcased their strength in the doubles category. Victoria O’Neill and Anna Arroyo dominated their opponents with a score of 6-1, securing a solid victory for the Lumberjacks.

Looking ahead, the Warren Lumberjacks are gearing up for their next match, scheduled for September 5 at Hamburg. The action is set to start at 3:30 pm.

Notably, Presley Reep has been named the Saline River Chronicle Player of the Day. Despite being a first-year tennis player in the 9th grade, Presley displayed remarkable skills on the court. She faced off against one of the top players in the conference in a tightly contested match, ultimately losing 6-4. Each game in her set pushed to a tiebreaker point. Presley’s ability to consistently volley back and forth impressed spectators and bodes well for her future in the sport, according to long-time supporters of the Warren Tennis program. Coach Micah Richey said the “future looks very bright” for Presley in his post-match comments.
