Lula Coulter, 75, of Warren, passed away October 3, 2023. Born March 1, 1948, to Denson and Annie B. Watson. Lula confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age.
She was married to Ben Coulter Jr. from April 15, 1967, until December 12, 1980. To this union two children were born.
Lula was a faithful member of Holy Jerusalem Victory COGIC since 1999, where she served as Sunday School Secretary, Hospitality president, Pastor Aid president, Monticello District Church Mother and Holy
Jerusalem Victory Head Church Mother under the leadership of Pastor Harold Owens Sr.
She worked in the healthcare field for many years, as a Social/Activity director at Beverly Healthcare (formerly Pine Lodge Nursing Home), Belleview Estates and Bradley County Medical Center Senior Care Unit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Denson and Annie B. Watson; siblings, Edward Watson Sr., JL Watson, Sam Watson, Leo Lawson, Pearlie Burns, Mary Vaughn and Juanita Smith.
Lula is survived by her children, Michael Coulter (Luretha), Regina Coulter; bonus sons, Patrick Marshall, Rafael Watson; eleven grandchildren, Ericka Morris, Michael Coulter Jr., Marquis Coulter, Melvin Coulter,
Micayla Coulter, Madison Coulter, Mya Coulter, Ryan Gholson, Joe Gholson, Michael Gholson, Asia Gholson; bonus grandchildren, Hannah Marshall, Jacob Marshall, CJ Simpson, Aaron Davis, Beonca Smith;
seventeen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; Godfather, Pastor Harold Owens Sr.; two special best friends, Gwen Jimerson, Yolanda Simpson; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held October 12 at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Warren with Rev. Henry Cox officiating and Superintendent Harold Owens Sr. eulogist. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jersey.
