Clara Mae Broughton, 83, of Banks, passed away August 3, 2024. Born January 17, 1941, to the late Clifton Hargraves and Doris Johnson. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Weary Rest Baptist Church in Hermitage, AR., where she served as a choir member and Benevolence Secretary until her health failed her. She loved spending time with family and friends.
She was united in marriage to Albert Lee Broughton Sr. on September 10, 1960, and under this union two children were born.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Broughton; two sons, Albert Douglas Broughton Jr., Paul Broughton; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Broughton; two siblings, Benny Johnson and Clifteen Partman.
She is survived by her daughter, Tresha Hines (Larry) of Jersey; seven grandchildren, Alicia Avery (Willie) of Banks, Cody Broughton of Warren, Marcus Broughton (Samantha) of Hermitage, Trenton Broughton
(Maria) of Warren, Karie Broughton, Daisy Broughton of Hermitage, Keldrick Hines of Aurora, CO; daughter-in-law, Ronda Broughton of Banks; four sisters, Vivian Roberson, Charlene Belcher, Marilyn Hutson (James), all of Warren, Johnnie Ruth Cola of Las Vegas, NV., one brother, James Johnson of Warren; one brother-in-law, Joe Broughton (Clara C.) of Little Rock; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held August 10 at Weary Rest Baptist Church in Marsden with Rev. Kelcey T. Highsmith Sr. officiating. Burial was in Weary Rest Cemetery, Marsden. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
