WOODLAWN, Ark. – According to a statement by the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department, a concerning Snapchat post made by a student at Woodlawn School late last night prompted an investigation. The post reportedly did not contain any direct threats, but displayed what appeared to be firearms, raising concerns about the student’s agitation.
In response, deputies from the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department, alongside officers from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the Arkansas State Police, were present at the school early Wednesday morning to investigate the matter, according to the statement by the Sheriff’s Department.
After conducting a thorough investigation, it was determined that the firearms in the photo were, in fact, BB guns, and the student involved does not have access to real firearms, according to the statement. Authorities confirmed that no students or staff were in any immediate danger during the incident, and the situation has since been handled.
The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department has stated that they will continue to monitor any potential threats or concerning behavior at the school. They urge the public to report any possible threats or suspicious activity immediately to ensure student safety.
The Sheriff’s Department continues to prioritize the safety of all schools and is committed to taking swift action in investigating any future incidents.
