Maverick Ray Hughey, 1, of Camden, passed away September 22, 2024. Born August 11, 2023, to Brandon and Pamela Hughey. Maverick was a joyful little boy who greeted each morning with a big, bright smile.
His favorite show, “Miss Rachel,” taught him to clap his hands and wave with delight. He loved blowing kisses to his mom and soaring through the air with his dad. Playing with his big brother and sister brought him endless joy. Maverick embraced life wholeheartedly, and his sweet, loving spirit touched everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Ester Pearl Johnson and maternal grandfather Billy Ray Morgan.
He is survived by his parents, Brandon and Pamela Hughey; siblings, Eden Hughey, Morgan Hughey; grandparents, Elder Clara Morgan, Bro. James Hughey; special cousin, Genesis Morgan; seven aunts, five uncles and a host of relatives.
Funeral service was held September 28 at Greenland Baptist Church in New Edinburg with Elder Clara Morgan officiating and Brandon Hughey eulogist. Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery, New Edinburg. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
