Christy Latay Cross-Smith, 1985-2024

Christy Latay Cross-Smith, 39, of Warren, passed away October 17, 2024. Born May 18, 1985, to Christopher Sr. and Melody Momon Cross. 

Christy attended Sacagawea Preschool and Veernon Grade School in Portland, OR., before her parents moved back to Arkansas in 1993. She was a cheerleader and ran track in school. After she finished school, she moved to Monroe, LA. She met and married Alvin Wayne Smith. She was a caregiver in Louisiana until her health failed in 2017, afterwards she moved back to Arkansas with her mother until she was able to move into her own apartment in 2021.

Christy joined Holy Hill COGIC, Banks, under the leadership of Elder Allen and Dr. J.L. Mosley, where she grew up singing in the choir. She loved the Lord, family, music and having lots of fun.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Morolene Momon and Kattie Cross.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin Smith of Winnsboro, LA.; two children, Jayshun Cross of Spokane, WA., Alexia Harrison of Warren, AR.; four grandchildren, Iyanna Williams, Ka’Mari Harrison, Zy’leigha and Sanori Cross of Spokane, WA.; parents, Melody Cross of Warren, AR., Chistopher Cross Sr. of Hampton, AR.; brothers, Chrishane Cross of Warren, AR., Christopher Cross Jr. (Melissa) of Fayetteville, AR., Elijah Smith of Hampton, AR., Khrishadd Cross of Portland, OR.; sister, Sananah Smith of Strong, AR.; uncles, Willie Cross, Terry Cross both of Hampton, AR., Tyrone Momon, of Warren, AR., Dewery Momon of Banks, AR.;  aunts, Mary Wiley of Little Rock, AR., Angela Hargraves (Donald), Linda Lawson (Rodney) both of Warren, AR., Lillie Hampton (Randel); a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held October 26 at Holy Deliverance COGIC in Warren with Dr. J.L. Mosley officiating and Rev. Terry Correll pastor. Burial was in Childs Cemetery, Banks. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
