Residents of Warren and the surrounding areas will have the opportunity to receive free tree seedlings as part of the statewide Free Tree Fridays program, an initiative celebrating Arbor Day 2025. The event will take place at Warren City Park on March 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Participants can receive up to five free seedlings to plant and help promote urban forestry and environmental conservation. The seedlings available will include a mix of native Arkansas species, such as cherrybark oak, eastern redbud, persimmon, red mulberry, river birch, and Shumard oak.
Free Tree Fridays is a statewide program running from March 21 through April 25, 2025, and is supported by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, the Arkansas Urban & Community Forestry Council, and the Arkansas Urban Forestry Council. Funding for the program was provided through a grant from the USDA Forest Service.
This initiative encourages Arkansans to celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees, which contribute to cleaner air, improved water quality, and enhanced green spaces in local communities.
