WARREN, Ark. (3/17/25) – Warren jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first, but allowed Stuttgart to tie the ballgame in the top of the seventh before the Ricebirds plated four runs in the extra frame to claim a 9-5 victory over the Jacks Monday evening at the Warren Sports Complex.

The Lumberjacks (6-2) pounded out five consecutive hits to open the bottom of the first, capped by a two-run single from Bryson Harris, to take a 3-0 edge and added another after an error for a 4-0 advantage. The Ricebirds (4-2) scored an unearned run in the third to get within 4-1 before three runs scored in the fifth inning, including a two-run home run by J.D. Hertzog, to tie the game at 4-4.
However, Harris came up with a clutch run-scoring base knock to put the Orange and Black in front again 5-4. Warren was able to get within one out of victory in the seventh inning, but Hertzog tied the game for the Ricebirds with a run-scoring single.
Stuttgart then scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning after the first two outs were recorded on two pitches. Warren was able to put two runners on in the bottom half with two outs, but a pop up ended the threat and clinched a 9-5 victory for the visitors.
Stuttgart outhit Warren 11-10, but tallied nine hits from the fifth inning on, while the Jacks put six hits on the board in the top of the first, but only had four the rest of the game. The Lumberjacks also made four errors leading to three unearned runs for the Ricebirds. Kolby Pope allowed one unearned run in the first three innings on two hits with four strikeouts and no walks. Ren Reep pitched the next 3 2/3 innings and allowed four runs on six hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Nathan Spears and Parker O’Neal combined to register the last four outs.
AJ Jordan led the Jacks with three hits, including a double, and scored a run. Harris led the team with three RBIs on two singles, while Pope, Hayden Cathey, Spears, O’Neal, and Jude Cathey recorded a base hit apiece.
Warren begins 4A-8 conference play on Thursday, March 20 with a road matchup at Watson Chapel. First pitch from Pine Bluff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
