DE QUEEN, Ark. (5/9/25) – The Warren Lumberjacks baseball squad couldn’t overcome two big innings for Arkadelphia in a 9-1 setback Friday afternoon in the 4A-4 Regional Tournament semifinals in De Queen.

Warren is now 17-7 overall on the season with the loss and will play in the third-place game tomorrow (Saturday, May 10) against Nashville to determine seeding for the 4A State Tournament. Arkadelphia, the 4A-7 Conference Champions, improved to 17-7 overall and will play for the 4A-4 Regional Championship tomorrow.
The Badgers’ first big inning occurred in the second inning when they loaded the bases with two walks sandwiched around a double to begin the inning. The next batter looped a soft line drive into left field to score two runners before a sacrifice fly scored another to put Arkadelphia on top 3-0.
Warren was able to get one back in the top of the third after AJ Jordan and Kolby Pope reached base with one out and a double steal got them both in scoring position for Bryson Harris. Harris grounded out to second to plate Jordan and bring the score to 3-1. The Jacks threatened again in the top of the fifth when Aceen Jurado walked before Pope reached on a pop up that got lost in the sun with one out. However, two popups ended the frame.
Arkadelphia scored an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth to move in front 4-1. The Orange and Black put two runners on base with one out again in the top of the sixth, but a fly out and hard lineout to center field kept the team off the scoreboard. The second big inning for Arkadelphia came in the bottom of the sixth when two errors helped the Badgers add five runs for a 9-1 advantage. Warren put one runner on in the seventh, but a strikeout ended the game.
Ryan Spears tossed 1-plus innings on the mound while Parker O’Neal threw the final five innings and struck out four against two walks. Warren was outhit six to three by the Badgers and also committed three errors to only one for Arkadelphia.
The Lumberjacks are set to face the Nashville Scrappers, who lost to Magnolia 6-3 in the other semifinal, in the third-place game tomorrow. First pitch from De Queen is scheduled for 12 p.m.
