Jackie Don Curry, 1945-2025

Jackie Don Curry born December 2nd, 1945, at his home in Rye, Arkansas to Lester “Lec” Curry and Annie Geneva Adams Curry went to his heavenly home in the early morning of June 1, 2025. Jackie grew up in Rye and graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1963. After graduation he attended one year of college at the University of Monticello where he studied Business. During this time, he met his one and only love, Dixie Ann Turner. They were married on June 4th, 1965. After stents at Arkansas Core of Engineers and being certified as a plumber with his father-in-law Hershel Turner, he joined the Arkansas Army National Guard as an active Guardsman. He retired from the Guard as a Supply Seargent after 33 years of service. He and Dixie then moved to Rye to run the family poultry farm. He managed the farm for 12 years before turning it over to his son, Keith. A man of great conviction, Jackie loved his Lord and Savior with all his heart. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Warren where he served as a Trustee. He was faithful to gather with his church family and benefited greatly from sermons that were yelled from the pulpit. As well as being a loving and devoted husband and father, he was hard-working and loved life to the fullest. He was known by all as a sweet presence, laidback and gentle soul. He took immense pleasure in being involved in the lives of his children, Keith and Kristi. A pleasure that continued with his grandsons. Jackie was an avid and faithful Lumberjack football supporter, hardly ever missing a game.
