Hampton jumped out to a 7–1 lead in the opening minutes, forcing Warren to chase the game early. That chase didn’t last long. Livi McKinney ignited the response with back-to-back baskets that nudged the Lady Jacks in front 9–8, and the momentum quietly shifted. From there, Warren’s balance and patience began to show.
The second quarter belonged to Breize Fellows. She scored seven points in the frame — including a three — as Warren stretched the lead to 30–21 at the break. The Lady Jacks weren’t overwhelming Hampton with one run so much as wearing them down possession by possession, finding clean looks and defending without fouling.
Hampton made its move coming out of halftime. The Lady Bulldogs rattled off 12 straight points to erase the margin and knot the game at 33–33, briefly flipping the energy in the gym. Warren answered with composure. Bayleigh Miller and Fellows delivered timely baskets to halt the run and reestablish control before the end of the third quarter.
That steady response reflected the imprint of head coach Mary Beth Grant, now in her second season at the helm of the Lady Jacks. Warren never rushed the moment, answering adversity with poise on both ends of the floor — a sign of a team increasingly comfortable executing within Grant’s system.
Then Miller closed the door.
The senior guard poured in 12 of her game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter, repeatedly getting to her spots and converting when Hampton needed stops the most. She finished 9-of-21 from the field and 2-of-3 from three, anchoring a fourth-quarter surge that turned a tight contest into an 18-point final margin.
Fellows added 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting, knocking down two three-pointers and contributing across the floor. McKinney chipped in 10 points and six rebounds, while Charlee Wardlaw and Alyssa Calbert each scored nine, underscoring a balanced Warren attack that featured scoring threats throughout the rotation.
As a team, the Lady Jacks shot 26-of-59 from the floor and connected on seven three-pointers, pairing efficient offense with steady defense to pull away late.
The win improves Warren to 8–1 overall. The Lady Jacks will hit the road Friday night to take on Magnolia.
