Hermitage High School announces EAST Convention Team for 2026

HERMITAGE, Ark. – Hermitage School District has announced the Hermitage High School (HHS) EAST Convention Team that will represent the school at the 2026 EAST Conference.

The HHS EAST team members selected for the upcoming convention are Slade Black, Cameron Byrd, Brentley Bunch, Abby Huitt, Avery Ledbetter, Mattie Robertson, Jaden Sosa and Elizabeth Wood.

In addition, Drake Atkins has been named the EAST Ambassador Team Leader for EAST 2026, a leadership role that highlights student involvement, responsibility and representation at the state level.

The EAST Initiative focuses on student-driven, project-based learning that emphasizes technology, problem-solving, leadership and innovation. Students involved in EAST programs work on real-world projects designed to benefit their schools and communities.

School officials praised the students for their leadership and commitment, noting that the group represents Hermitage High School with pride as they prepare for the 2026 convention.

The announcement concluded with a message of “Hermit Pride” as the students prepare to showcase their work and leadership at the statewide event.
