Jessica Bree-Anne “Bree” Lanthrip, 1998-2026

Jessica Bree-Anne “Bree” Lanthrip, 27, of Monticello, Arkansas, slipped away peacefully on April 12, 2026, surrounded by those who loved her. She was born on November 13, 1998, in Warren, Arkansas, to Thomas and Lynn Lanthrip. Bree was an active member of Northside Baptist Church in Monticello. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Malendia Duran of Warren, Audrey Page of Mena, and Ronald “Red” Lanthrip of Fordyce. She is survived by her grandparents, William and Mary Scarlett of Crossett, and Janice Lanthrip of Fordyce; her parents, Thomas and Lynn Lanthrip; four brothers, William (Sy) Lanthrip, Ethan Lanthrip, Bentley Lanthrip, and Brantley Lanthrip; and one sister, Cheyenne Lanthrip, all of Monticello; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who loved her dearly.

Bree was a 2021 cum laude graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. She was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha and Phi Alpha Theta. She loved learning and cherished the close relationships she built with her professors in a small-school setting. Bree worked as a preschool and after-school teacher at Pauline Daycare. The love she gave her daycare children was the kind that comforted, protected, and made them feel safe. She was always there for them and found great joy in teaching.

From childhood, Bree loved 4-H and all it offered. She attended many camps and competitions that helped shape the person she became. From ages 11 to 18, she developed a passion for showing poultry, forming friendships that lasted a lifetime. As an adult, she continued giving back as a 4-H volunteer leader, sharing her love for the program with others.

Her passion for history led her to volunteer many hours at Historic Washington State Park, where she gave tours at the Sanders Farmstead dressed in period clothing. She had a gift for bringing the past to life.

Bree was unashamedly herself, loving to all and a safe place for many. She was deeply devoted to her family, friends, and students, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Since the age of 13, she loved writing stories and had a special talent for turning everyday moments into something beautiful. This passion led to the publication of her first book, Daughter of the Sea, in 2025.

Her unwavering faith was evident in all she did. She loved teaching children’s church and helping with Vacation Bible School. That same faith now brings comfort, knowing she rests safely in the arms of Jesus.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Warren.

“A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.”—Ecclesiastes 7:1 (KJV)
