BRADLEY COUNTY, Ark. (4-15-26) — The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a scam circulating on social media and through messages that appears to be an official court document demanding payment.
According to a post shared by the sheriff’s office, the notice is designed to look like a legitimate “State of Arkansas” court order, complete with a case number, judge’s name, and references to legal statutes. The document claims the recipient is in violation of traffic-related offenses and threatens immediate enforcement action if payment is not made.
The notice also includes a QR code, instructing recipients to scan it to make a payment.
Authorities say the document is fraudulent.
Officials are urging anyone who receives the notice to avoid scanning the QR code, not to contact any numbers listed, and to delete the message immediately. The sheriff’s office emphasized that legitimate court notices will not demand payment through QR codes or similar methods.
Several individuals commented on the post indicating they had received the same notice, with many reporting they recognized it as a scam and deleted it without responding.
Residents who have questions or believe they may have been targeted are encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
