Blossoms Softball Host Crimson Storm for Senior Weekend Series

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Softball team returns home to Alvy Early Field at Ryburn Park for the final series of their 2026 season. The Blossoms will host the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene on Thursday, April 30 and Friday, May 1. The ladies in green and white will host a doubleheader on Thursday at 2:30 p.m., followed by a solo contest on Friday, May 1, at 12:00 p.m. Thursday will see the Blossoms honoring their four seniors on the squad upon the completion of the doubleheader.

LAST MEETING

The Blossoms fell last season to the Crimson Storm in a sweep in Bethany, 1-8, 0-6, 1-9. The Blossoms scored first in the series opener, taking an early lead in the second on a SAC bunt from Kammie Walker. Southern Nazarene responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning. The Crimson Storm saw an RBI single and a grand slam to reclaim a 5-1 lead. SNU saw an RBI double and a two-run home run in the fourth to increase the lead to 8-1. UAM was unable to score another run, resulting in an 8-1 loss for the Blossoms. Southern Nazarene was the only team to score in game two, seeing six runs cross the plate between the second and third innings. The contest would conclude with a 6-0 loss for UAM. The Blossoms scored first in the final game of the series, seeing Makenzie Martin touch home on a ground ball from Carleigh Deeds in the second. Southern Nazarene would respond with the tying run in the bottom half of the inning. The Crimson Storm went on to score four runs in both the third and fourth innings, eventually ending the game in the fifth, 9-1.

ALL-TIME SERIES

The all-time series record is currently in favor of the Crimson Storm, 23-20, and dates back to the first meeting in February of 2013, a 2-0 win for the UAM. The Blossoms are currently 12-7 when playing at Alvy Early Field, and 8-13 when in Bethany. The two teams have met three times in Bentonville, with the Blossoms falling in each game. The largest margin of victory for the ladies in green and white came in just their third overall game with SNU, a 15-2 win in 5 innings. Through 43 games held, the Blossoms have plated 174 runs at home, averaging 4.05 runs per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLOSSOMS

The ladies in green and white fell to the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas in a three-game sweep, 0-6, 4-12, 0-13.
