Mills threatened early, creating a dangerous opportunity in the 5th minute with a run down the right flank, but the shot drifted just wide of the far post. Warren answered quickly, as Joseph Guerrero recorded the Lumberjacks’ first shot on goal in the 6th minute, though it was handled by the Mills keeper.
Just a minute later, Mills capitalized on a counterattack from the left wing, finding the back of the net in the 7th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
Warren continued to press in the opening half. In the 19th minute, Jacarlos Marquez fired a shot on goal, but the Mills goalkeeper made a solid save to preserve the advantage heading into halftime.
The Lumberjacks came out with renewed energy in the second half. Their efforts paid off in the 56th minute when De’Sean Adams found the equalizer, leveling the match at 1-1.
Warren maintained control from there, applying sustained pressure and keeping possession deep in Mills territory. The breakthrough came with just nine minutes remaining, when Joshua Romero delivered a well-timed through ball to Marquez, who calmly finished across the keeper to give the Lumberjacks a 2-1 lead.
Warren held on down the stretch to secure the win, improving to 7-4-2 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play.
The Lumberjacks will return to action Thursday on the road against White Hall.
