Lady Jacks Finish Runners-up to Monticello in 4A-4 Regional Championship Game

CROSSETT, Ark. — The Warren Lady Jacks fell to the Monticello Lady Billies 7-1 Saturday in the 4A-4 Regional Tournament championship game.

Monticello jumped ahead early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning on a home run by Ashley Hales. The Lady Billies added another run in the third on a solo home run by Bliss Becker to take a 4-0 lead.

Warren broke through in the top of the sixth inning when Bayleigh Miller hit a solo home run to center field, accounting for the Lady Jacks’ lone run of the game.

Monticello answered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and held Warren scoreless the rest of the way.

Miller led Warren at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run, one RBI and one run scored. Charlee Wardlaw and Blythe Calloway each added a hit for the Lady Jacks. Warren finished with four hits and committed no errors.

Raeleigh Milton pitched six innings for Warren, allowing seven runs on eight hits while striking out two and walking two.

For Monticello, Hales went 2-for-3 with five RBIs and a home run. Becker was 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and one RBI. Addi Frazer also had two hits and earned the win in the circle, allowing one run on four hits over seven innings with two strikeouts and one walk.

The Lady Jacks finished as the 4A-4 Regional Tournament runner-up.
