Sue Richardson Hammons, 1930-2026

Sue Richardson Hammons, age 96 of Warren, AR died Saturday May 16th 2026 at her home. She was born January 13th 1930 in Warren, AR a daughter of the late Ernest Grady Richardson and Ozell Godwin Richardson. She received her early education in Warren, and graduated from Warren High School in 1948 and business college in Tyler, Texas in 1949. She retired from the Bradley County office of the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services in October of 1990, after 25 ½ years as a Service Representative. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Warren, AR and the widow of the late Jack D. Hammons whom she married July 25th, 1951 and he passed away April 1st, 2010. Preceding her in death were brothers Bobby G. Richardson and Grady “Honky” Richardson.

Survivors include her sons, John Patrick Hammons and spouse Anne, Warren, AR and Joe David Hammons and spouse LaDonna, Warren, AR. A sister Ginger Rauls, Warren, AR. 4 grandchildren Jaclyn, Austin, Anna Jane and Elizabeth and 4 great-grandchildren Jaxson, Landon, Dax and Avi.


Graveside services were 10:00AM Tuesday, May 19th in Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Russell Rhoden officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. 

Memorials preferred to the First Baptist Church Warren. A special and loving thank you of appreciation is extended on behalf of the Hammons family to Sue Wiley, Renee Blanner and the Bradley County Medical Center Home Health.
