Margaret Ann Johnson, 1937-2026

Margaret Ann Johnson Starnes, 89, of Cabot, met her Lord and Savior face to face on Sunday, June 14, 2026. She was born January 12, 1937 in Jersey, Arkansas to the late James Carl and Emily Mae Porter Johnson. Margaret had several jobs
throughout her life including bookkeeper, church secretary and her most rewarding as a caregiver to many elderly individuals. She loved taking care of others, including her family. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her siblings, children, grandchildren and many cousins, who were all close to her heart. She would lovingly call people “sweetie” or “sugar” and was well known for using the phrase “bless your heart”.

If you knew Margaret, you knew that she was a strong, Godly woman who prayed without ceasing for her family and many others. She spent her life teaching many Sunday School classes and leading many Bible studies. She loved reading and studying God’s Word. Margaret’s heart’s desire would be that her family will love and know her Savior, Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estel Starnes and step-mother, Madge Ormand Johnson.

Margaret is survived by her children, Kelleye Taylor (Jim) of Schenectady, New York, Candy Hart of Austin, Arkansas, Randy (Rene’) Johnson of El Dorado, Arkansas and Kenny Johnson of Hampton, Arkansas; her siblings, Betty Heird of
Cabot, Arkansas, Linda White of Vancouver, Washington, Carla Crowder of Sherwood, Arkansas and Sammy Johnson of Dallas, Texas and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 19, 2026 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 9:00 a.m. Committal service will be 2:30 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Jersey, Arkansas.
