Milton-Taylor Team Wins Warren Ladies’ Golf Tourney

The team of Tori Milton of Crossett and Laurie Taylor of Magnolia shot a four-under-par 68 to win the First Flight of the Warren Ladies’ Scramble on Wednesday, July 15, at Warren Country Club.

Sonia Barker and Shelley Impson of Smackover also shot 68 but were carded off to place second. Suzy Burson and Teri McCaskill of Smackover finished third with a score of 74.

Players from Bastrop and Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Crossett; Dubach, Louisiana; DeWitt; El Dorado; Hensley; Magnolia; Monroe, Louisiana; Monticello; Norphlet; Prescott; Sheridan; Smackover; Stephens; Warren; and White Hall competed in the tournament.

In the Second Flight, the team of Teresa Echols and Stacey Davis of Monticello won first place. Lindy Williams and Heather Krost of Fordyce finished second, while Trena Andrews of Bastrop and Kelly Wade of Monroe placed third.

The Third Flight was won by Susan Crawford of Dubach and Guiana Elliott of Monroe. Hannah Porto and Kim Jordan of Monticello finished second, and Sammye Crawford of Baton Rouge and Linda Speer of El Dorado placed third.

Shelley Impson of Stephens won the longest-drive contest on Hole No. 8. Par Grimes of Prescott won the closest-to-the-pin contest on Hole No. 13, while Sammye Crawford won the prize for hitting the ball closest to the line on Hole No. 8.

Glenetta Burks, Lisa Higgins and Libby Mann co-chaired the event. Sandy Gavin, Felecia Doster and Nancy Vittitow headed various committees.

Members of the Men’s Golf Association provided carts for the event. Daniel Robinson, the club’s greenskeeper, and Joe Burks were in charge of the course. Club Manager Krista Sparks provided breakfast and lunch.

Contributors to the event included Arkansas Superior Federal Credit Union, Commercial Bank, Warren Bank and Trust, Union Bank and Trust, Mitchell Lumber and Hardware, Molly’s, Nancy’s Florist and Pro Nails.
