Preliminary work is underway on the Town of Banks water consolidation project, with crews marking proposed utility routes and existing water meters throughout the community.
NLS, the contractor for the project, has placed flags and other markings in areas where portions of the new water system are expected to be installed. Town representatives have also begun marking the locations of existing water meters.
Banks Waterworks officials are asking residents not to remove, relocate or tamper with any of the flags or markers, as they are needed for planning and construction.
Customers are also receiving letters and water user agreements from the Southeast Bradley County Water District Public Water Authority as part of the Banks consolidation. The paperwork includes right-of-way easement information needed for the project.
Residents who receive a form are asked to complete and return it. Customers with additional meters at the same property—or meters at other properties they own—must complete a separate form for each meter.
The consolidation project is expected to connect the Banks water system with the Southeast Bradley County Water District system. Additional information about the construction process and its schedule is expected to be provided as work progresses.
