The Warren School District has released a list of expectations for students attending Junior High and Senior High athletic events, outlining rules aimed at maintaining a safe and orderly environment during games.
Among the guidelines, students from Warren and Brunson Elementary schools are expected to be accompanied by an adult at all ball games. Elementary students should also have an adult with them when going to the concession stand or restroom.
Running is not permitted in the stadium, including in the bleachers, and students are not allowed to bring backpacks into the facility. Students are also prohibited from going underneath the bleachers for any reason.
The district is asking students attending games to remain spectators rather than bringing or playing games of their own, such as “cup” ball or similar activities. Students are expected to sit in the bleachers to watch the game and limit unnecessary trips to and from the concession stand and restroom areas out of consideration for other spectators.
Other expectations include refraining from profanity or cursing and avoiding arguing, fighting or other disruptive behavior. Students are expected to follow the directions of school personnel at all times.
Anyone who leaves the stadium will be required to pay admission again to re-enter.
The district also noted that the black seats located in the stands are reserved for those who have purchased reserved seating. Students and other spectators should not sit in those seats unless they are with the person who purchased them. Anyone sitting in a reserved seat without permission may be asked to move.
Students who fail to follow the district’s expectations after receiving a warning may be escorted to the adult who brought them to the game or to a Warren School District administrator. Continued problematic behavior could also result in a student being suspended from attending future ball games.
The expectations apply during both Warren Junior High and Senior High games.
