Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park will welcome the beginning of fall with a special **Fall Equinox Sunset Tour** on Saturday, Sept. 19.
The guided program will be held from **5:30 to 6:30 p.m.** and will explore ceremonies and traditions associated with the Plum Bayou culture that once inhabited the site.
Following the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to watch the first sunset of fall over the park’s largest mound, which is the tallest Native American mound in Arkansas.
Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park preserves one of the state’s most significant prehistoric Native American sites and provides visitors an opportunity to learn more about the people who constructed and used the mounds centuries ago.
Additional information about the Fall Equinox Sunset Tour is available through Arkansas State Parks.
