Woodlawn School District families will have a busy afternoon and evening on Thursday, Oct. 15, with an early dismissal, parent-teacher conferences, a Lady Bears basketball fundraiser and the Woodlawn Booster Club’s annual Fall Festival all scheduled for the same day.
Students will be dismissed early at 1:30 p.m. as the district prepares for parent-teacher conferences, which will be held from 2:30 to 7 p.m. Families may drop in during that time to meet with teachers and discuss student progress.
The Woodlawn Lady Bears basketball team will host a spaghetti fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m., with meals available for pickup at the Woodlawn High School Testing Center during parent-teacher conferences.
Meals are $10 each and include a canned drink, a dessert and a choice of pasta. Options include chicken Alfredo, spaghetti and chicken spaghetti. Proceeds will benefit the Lady Bears basketball program.
The evening will continue with the Woodlawn Booster Club Annual Fall Festival from 6 to 8 p.m. at the football field.
Admission to the Fall Festival is $5, while armbands are $15. Children 3 and under are admitted free.
The event will feature bounce houses, a cake walk and local vendor booths, along with concessions. Food options will include hot dogs, popcorn and nachos.
Vendor booths are available for $25.
